Clarity before certainty
Readers should understand the moving parts before being pushed toward a conclusion.
Elliot's Bench
Why this exists
Elliot's Bench exists because many legal debates are presented as if only one side could possibly be serious. In reality, the same statute, constitutional principle, or precedent can create genuine interpretive tension.
This platform is built to slow that process down. It asks what each side would say at its strongest, what law each side depends on, and where the disagreement actually lives. The goal is not to erase judgment. The goal is to make judgment more informed.
Readers should understand the moving parts before being pushed toward a conclusion.
Neutrality here means fair structure, careful language, and serious engagement.
The writing should be readable enough for college students and rigorous enough to matter.
